ALANOD supports Solar Heat Europe in its battle against climate change and in the promotion of renewable energies
The Solar Thermal sector is strongly committed towards bringing positive change to our world and to our societies. It aims to reduce EU’s energy needs and striving for a cost-efficient approach to clean, affordable and competitive solutions. In order to accelerate this goal, Solar Heat Europe has launched a petition calling on European, national, regional, and local policy makers to take decisive action.
Bacteria and viruses are rapidly killed on metallic copper surfaces. While the phenomenon was already known in ancient times, it is currently receiving renewed attention. The surfaces we touch in our daily routine can be a vector of transmission. Indeed, the virus that causes Covid-19 can persist on plastic and stainless steel for up to three days. This only underlines the importance of continually disinfecting and cleaning surfaces that are frequently touched. By simply changing the texture of the surfaces we use, or coating them with substances that kill bacteria and viruses more quickly, it is possible to defeat infectious organisms before they even get into our bodies.
Kiruna, a town in northern Sweden, is on the move. Located in Lapland, the town and many of its 23.000 residents are being relocated 3 kilometers to the east to prevent it slowly being swallowed by an underground mine. The huge relocation project started in 2014 with the goal to construct a new town center, municipal buildings and around 3,000 new homes. Kiruna Town Hall, designed by Danish studio Henning Larsen, is the first building completed as part of Kiruna’s relocation.
Airborne microbial diseases represent one of the major challenges to global public health. The most common examples are influenza, appearing in seasonal and epidemic forms, the current Corona virus (COVID-19), as well as bacterial diseases such as tuberculosis, which are emerging in increasingly multi-drug resistant forms.
Autonomous UV-C sanitising robots are becoming the preferred choice in the health care market. Even before Covid-19, hospitals and medical institutions invested huge resources, staff and time into manual disinfection. Sanitising robots offer great savings potential here.
With the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic, disinfection with UV light has seen a tremendous demand from the professional sector. Now the industry expects a further surge in demand, this time from the private sector. Reflector surfaces made of MIRO® UV provide optimal conditions for disinfection with intensive UV C light.
