Renewable energies are on the rise. This is also proven by a new large-scale project in Austria. Starting in summer 2021, more than 2.5 million kWh of heat per year will be generated from a solar thermal energy plant based in Friesach. This project was made possible by the merger of solar thermal specialist 'Unser Kraftwerk' and 'GREENoneTEC'. While GREENoneTEC produces the flat-plate collectors, Unser Kraftwerk is responsible for its installation.

Bacteria and viruses are rapidly killed on metallic copper surfaces. While the phenomenon was already known in ancient times, it is currently receiving renewed attention.The surfaces we touch in our daily routine can be a vector of transmission. Indeed, the virus that causes Covid-19 can persist on plastic and stainless steel for up to three days. This only underlines the importance of continually disinfecting and cleaning surfaces that are frequently touched. By simply changing the texture of the surfaces we use, or coating them with substances that kill bacteria and viruses more quickly, it is possible to defeat infectious organisms before they even get into our bodies.
Kiruna, a town in northern Sweden, is on the move. Located in Lapland, the town and many of its 23.000 residents are being relocated 3 kilometers to the east to prevent it slowly being swallowed by an underground mine. The huge relocation project started in 2014 with the goal to construct a new town center, municipal buildings and around 3,000 new homes. Kiruna Town Hall, designed by Danish studio Henning Larsen, is the first building completed as part of Kiruna’s relocation.
