    Our highly efficient absorber coatings for solar thermal applications have been proving their worth around the globe for decades. Here are some examples of projects in which our aluminum surfaces have been used.

    Large-scale solar thermal project, Friesach, Austria

    The large-scale solar thermal system consists of 436 large solar collectors with a total surface area of 5,750 square meters, which are connected to the 1,000 cubic meter buffer storage tank via a 1.1 km long heat pipe. The solar collectors consist of highly efficient absorbing aluminum surfaces from Alanod.

    Hamdan Sports Complex, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

    A 1,026 m² solar thermal system was installed on the roof of the Hamdan Sports Complex to supply the sports facility with hot water for the sanitary facilities and the swimming pool. Our highly efficient absorption product mirotherm® was used for the solar panels – with a 10-year guarantee on the absorber surface.

    At the Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

    A 1,020 m² solar thermal system was installed on the roof of a building of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, in 2009. The solar panels use mirotherm®, our highly efficient, durable absorber material.

    Solar project FSIG SolarCAD II, Geneva, Switzerland

    The SIG SolarCAD II solar thermal power plant, which was planned, installed and completed in December 2020 by the Geneva-based company TVP Solar, produces more than 0.5 GWh of energy per year. In 2021, the plant proved that it can produce hot water at a temperature of more than 80°C all year round, even in winter.
