We are specialists in functional and decorative surface coatings on metal coils. From anodising to PVD coating to individually developed lacquer systems, we offer a full range of process technologies from a single source. We are the only company in the world that can refine the product qualities of strip metal in a wide variety of combinations – from anodising to high-vacuum coating (PVD technology) through to two-sided (coil-to-coil) lacquering.
History of Alanod
Over the last decades, our company has grown steadily. The national and international expansion course has made us a globally active and broadly based company over the years. Here are the most important milestones since our foundation in 1975:

The second coil-to-coil anodising line with a width of 1,000 mm is put into operation
1985
Construction of a 220 m long coil-to-coil production line, which can anodise large coils up to a width of 1250 mm
up to 1986
ALANOD grows successfully and becomes the leading European manufacturer of anodised aluminium
1994 – 1999
Commissioning of two coil-to-coil PVD coating lines ALBA I and II
1998
ALANOD expands its operations into the UK by taking over METALOXYD - renamed to ALANOD LTD.
2002
Construction of a new production hall with 3000 m² and extension of the administration building by 700 m²
2005
Commissioning of the 3rd coil-to-coil PVD coating line ALBA III
2005
Purchase of Interpane Solarbeschichtungs GmbH and renaming to ALANOD Sunselect - extension of solar product portfolio
2007
Introduction of environmental management certified in accordance with ISO 14001:2015

ALANOD expands its activities into the US market by acquiring Westlake Metals Industries

ALANOD deepens environmental protection and purchases 'green' electricity from hydropower

Construction of a new solar plant. Commissioning of a new coil-to -coil lacquering line and construction of a PVD coating line ALBA IV

Introduction of energy management certified in accordance with ISO 50001:2011

Creation of a Joint Venture with Xxentria in Taiwan for anodization and PVD coating of rolled metal targeting the growing markets in Asia

ALANOD purchases BlueTec in Germany and broadens its portfolio in the solar heating industry

ALANOD is declared as a climate neutral company and has joined an alliance for development and climate

We are specialists in functional and decorative surface coatings on metal coils. In a specially designed testing and development centre, our products are evaluated, measured and checked, so they are in line with international standards.
With four anodising lines, four PVD lines, one lacquering line (as well as three slitting lines) and two cut-to-length lines at our company location in Ennepetal, Germany, we produce functional and
decorative surface qualities for a wide variety of sectors on an industrial scale.
Our high-quality products are used internationally in the lighting,
solar, automotive, decorative and
electronics industries. Our products are
used as surfaces for façades and
ceilings, signs and name plates, furniture laminates and also in household appliances.
The high quality of our products and services are the cornerstone of our customers' confidence in us. We develop and produce at our location in Germany and thus guarantee process safety and best quality.
In our own test- and development centre with application-specific testing equipment, our products are tested, evaluated, and measured according to international standards.
We continuously monitor all our processes. Our Quality Management System is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
