Absorption surfaces for solar technology

If you utilise solar collectors, there are three selective absorption coating systems for you to choose from. mirotherm® Control, mirotherm®, eta plus® and mirosol® TS can be used in various types of solar collectors. The eta plus® and mirotherm® coating systems are continuously vapour coated and sputtered in an air-vacuum-air process using PVD methods. This helps you achieve absorption rates of 95% with a low emissivity of no more than 5%, depending on your requirements.

mirotherm® Control

When you need high solar absorption, but also resistance to external influences such as moisture and integrated protection against overheating, mirotherm® Control is right for you. It was developed on the basis of our best-selling and established coating, mirotherm®. mirotherm® Control offers you all the advantages of the proven system while achieving solar absorption up to 96 % – offering you the highest product quality.

mirotherm®

The special mirotherm® coating is ideal for your solar thermal systems and absorbs both direct sunlight and diffuse radiation. Based upon an aluminium strip, an innovative three-layer absorber system is applied using a continuous PVD method in a worldwide, technologically unique air-vacuum-air process. Whilst the IR reflective layer ensures you with low thermal emissivity, the oxide absorption and antireflection coatings provide you with maximum solar absorption and resistance to external influences. Additionally, mirotherm® has a laser-weldable, anti-corrosion coating.

Where can we help you?

eta plus®

eta plus® is a semi-finished product for your solar thermal systems. You can use it in absorbers for flat-plate collectors with full-surface or strip absorbers, in tube collectors as well as in air- and large-scale facade collectors. Additionally, it facilitates the production of high-performance collectors for solar cooling and the generation of process heat. eta plus® achieves a very high solar absorption of up to 96% – combined with a very low thermal emissivity of just 4%. Based upon an aluminium or copper strip, the innovative, absorber layer system is applied using a continuous PVD method in a worldwide, technologically unique air-vacuum-air process.

mirosol® TS

mirosol® TS is an exemplary material if your solar thermal systems are installed in regions with high solar radiation. During the manufacture of mirosol® TS, a selective, hydrophobic lacquer is applied to aluminium in a specially developed process. This means that for the first time, in addition to PVD coatings, lacquers using the coil coating method are now also available to you for solar thermal collectors. mirosol® TS stands out thanks to its high resistance to heavy environmental pollution, salty air, moisture, condensation, oil and dirt – as well as a low stagnation temperature.
