Sustainable action is not a fad at Alanod, but has been a cornerstone of our corporate philosophy since our foundation in 1975. As a climate-neutral company, we rely on state-of-the-art production technologies, up to 90% recycled aluminium and 100% green electricity.
We combine economic success with ecological responsibility and social commitment – for a future that conserves resources and ensures quality of life. With our products, we make a daily contribution to environmental and climate protection and assume social responsibility.
Climate-neutral company with certified environmental commitment
Protecting the climate is one of the greatest challenges of our time. At Alanod, we have accepted this challenge and consistently focus on environmentally conscious action in all areas of the company. Our commitment to climate protection and environmental management is not just lip service, but a lived practice – for decades and with a view to the future.
Climate neutral
Our CO₂ emissions at the Ennepetal site are offset by climate protection certificates in accordance with the internationally recognized CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) standard. We are proud to be a completely climate-neutral company.
Ambitious
Our sustainability goals are based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and we are currently working on an EcoVadis certification to make our sustainability performance measurable according to international standards.
Committed
As an active member of the BMZ's "Alliance for Development and Climate", we contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Agreement. In this community, we pull together with universities, associations and other companies.
Certified
Our environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 ensures the continuous optimization of all environmentally relevant processes. With our energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001:2018, we improve our energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Clean
Our hazardous substance management ensures that all our products comply with the strict guidelines of REACh, RoHS, WEEE and EoLV. This enables us to guarantee that our surfaces also meet the highest standards in terms of environmental compatibility.
Conserving resources
through aluminium recycling
Aluminium is the ideal material for a sustainable future. At Alanod, we consistently exploit this potential by focusing on closed material cycles and energy-efficient production processes.
Our materials consist of up to 90% recycled aluminium. This important step saves up to 95% energy compared to primary aluminium production. This conserves valuable resources and significantly reduces the carbon footprint.
At the end of their life cycle, our aluminium products can be recycled almost loss-free – a perfect example of a functioning circular economy. This offers not only ecological but also economic benefits.
In our production, we rely on 100% green electricity from hydropower. In addition, our state-of-the-art post-combustion technology ensures that no surplus energy is consumed. This results in premium materials with minimal environmental impact.

The Reichert-Alanod Foundation supports numerous non-profit and charitable projects in Ennepetal and the surrounding area. The focus is on promoting youth and elderly care, children's and youth sport and supporting children's and youth universities in the region.
As an active training company, we invest in the next generation. Through our training opportunities in technical and commercial areas, cooperation with universities and vocational academies as well as internships and trainee programs, we specifically promote the next generation.
Our conscious commitment to Germany as a production location not only guarantees optimum processes and product quality ("Made in Germany"), but also secures jobs and strengthens the local economy.
