MIRO-SILVER® GL contributes significantly to extending the service life of your lights. The special protective coating prevents corrosion and loss of performance in the humid greenhouse environment. Compared to conventional reflector materials, you can expect our aluminium-based reflector surfaces to last at least twice as long. Even after 1,000 operating hours, our materials show a reflection loss of less than 1% – significantly better than alternative solutions on the market.
Yes, MIRO® is ideal for LED-based lighting systems. The uniform reflection across the entire light spectrum enables efficient use of the specific wavelengths of modern grow LEDs. Especially for multi-channel LED systems that combine different spectral ranges for different growth phases, our reflector surfaces offer optimum properties and ensure homogeneous light distribution even with point-shaped LED light sources.
Our MIRO® and MIRO-SILVER® GL surfaces have been specially developed for use in demanding greenhouse conditions. The protective layer on the aluminium resists even aggressive cleaning agents, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. We have proven its resistance in extensive tests. This guarantees consistently high performance without premature signs of ageing such as clouding or yellowing.
Conventional reflector surfaces absorb large parts of the IR radiation, causing the ambient air to heat up unnecessarily. MIRO-SILVER® GL, on the other hand, also reflects IR wavelengths above 800 nm with up to 98% efficiency. This leads to direct heating of the plants instead of the ambient air, which reduces the overall energy requirement for heating and cooling. In typical greenhouses, energy savings of 15-20% can be achieved.
