Next-level material for Transformer Coils
Coil material for electrical transformers needs inter-lap insulation. Traditionally, paper has fulfilled this role. With MIRO® Volt, our insulation-coated aluminium strip, the need for the additional paper insulation becomes redundant. MIRO® Volt aluminium strip offers you a step-up into the future of transformers.
Make your transformer production more efficient
Replacing the paper insulation not only benefits the space requirements of your transformers. It also has a positive effect on your production efficiency, as you save efforts in the manufacturing processes.
Performance improvement
MIRO® Volt strips help increase electrical performance by reducing power losses within the transformer.
Space reduction
Compared to traditional transformer construction, MIRO® Volt strips need less space for the same performance.
Cost savings
A more compact inner core can be used, less material for the outer windings is needed, leading to significant material savings.
Production efficiency
Without the need for additional paper winding, MIRO® Volt offers clear production efficiency gains.
Stability protection
MIRO® Volt with optional adhesion layers will result in a solid winding, protecting your transformer system from mechanical damage.
Proven technology
One of the major worldwide transformer manufacturers has been using MIRO® Volt since 2019 – with only positive results.

Frequently
asked questions
Production becomes more efficient without the need for applying separate paper insulation during winding. MIRO® Volt strips come ready-to-use with insulation pre-applied. For enhanced mechanical stability, our optional adhesion layer solidifies the transformer shape during the annealing process, providing additional protection against mechanical damage while maintaining production efficiency gains.
Yes, MIRO® Volt is commercially proven technology. One of the major worldwide transformer manufacturers has been using MIRO® Volt since 2019 with exclusively positive results. The technology offers superior temperature stability up to 180°C, with edge insulation rated up to 300°C, ensuring long-term reliability in demanding applications.
By integrating insulation directly into the aluminum strip, MIRO® Volt creates significantly more compact windings compared to traditional paper insulation methods. This allows for smaller transformer cores, reducing the amount of core material needed and decreasing the material required for outer windings. The elimination of paper insulation also streamlines winding operations, reducing both material and labor costs.
