Resource conservation is a must at ALANOD – from the very outset

Surface finishing processes inevitably require the use of primary energy, consumables and water as one of our most valuable resources. Since our foundation, our operations have been guided by such values as the conservation of natural resources and the health and safety of our employees.

Through continual optimisation of our manufacturing facilities to ensure energy-efficient production and the downstream environmental technology (waste air, waste materials, waste water), we not only meet, but exceed, the specifications of the licensing requirements and the environmental laws and regulations to ensure resource-efficient production.

Water, as an important natural resource, is treated with great respect at ALANOD. In addition to the mandatory requirements, we subscribe to maximum multiple, yet sparing use of water through optimally designed static tanks and rinsing cascades.

Based on functional hazardous substance management, we ensure that our products meet the requirements of REACh, RoHS, WEEE and EoLV. We assume responsibility for our environment and since 2011 have used “100% green” hydro power, a purely regenerative energy source, in our production to ensure environmentally friendly processes.

Our Environmental Management System (EM) was initially certified by the DQS in 2007 and since then has consistently met the full set of requirements in DIN EN ISO 14001:2005.

Together with our Quality Management System (QM) and our occupational health and safety and fire safety standards, our EM system forms an Integrated Management System, IMS.

Living responsibly – conserving resources.
